Last weekend I took my bf to The Grove which is the LA equivalent to Rockefeller Center at Christmas. There is a HUGE Christmas tree lighting but it is set up as an outdoor shopping mall with LOTS of good stores. It was there that I dragged him into Zara (which is 2 floors!) and saw some amazing outer wear I never knew I had to have!

Happy post Turkey, pre Santa week! I have quite a lot to do! (ie. hit the gym in a MAJOR way) Did you all endure the stampedes of black Friday? I opted out of the whole mess personally although I had a worthy distraction. I spent last week entirely with the bf which was pretty amazing. I baked holiday goodies, ate shamelessly and we had a road trip up to northern California to his brothers house for the actual Thanksgiving festivities. I don’t have many pictures to show for any of it though because my camera battery died on me (see above distraction)!

The bf surprised me by telling me he is going to spend 3 weeks with me over the Christmas/New Years holiday break which makes the blow of his leaving for Iraq in January (slightly) easier. He is also taking me to Vegas to ring in the New year! I am really excited about it but also his looming departure is like a dark rain cloud over my life. The best medicine for me right now is to be distracted so I am going to throw myself into life with reckless abandon and see what happens.
So let’s get back to FASHION shall we?
My favorite thing about the holiday season is how sparkly everything is. There’s nothing I love more than a sparkly dress for all of the holiday parties I look forward to attending. This French Connection dress is absolutely perfect and I have been eyeing it for MONTHS….!!

So this weekend I finally managed to stop by the thrift store. I went equipped with a list so I would stay focused specifically on certain items. Of course as luck had it I found none of the things on the list. But I did find two things that were noticeably missing from my wardrobe.
Satin Blouse.
This blouse is Jones New York and in pristine condition. It’s almost as if it was never worn. It is perfect for throwing on with a pair of skinny’s and booties (perhaps the leopard ones I posted about on Friday??)
White Blazer
This jacket is Ann Taylor and also in perfect condition. I have been wanting a white blazer for such a long time I had forgotten I even wanted one! LOL Of course these items look much better on than they do on the hangers which you will see in future outfit posts
The best part? I spent $14!
This weekend I also helped a friend clean out her closet. Not only did we purge her of so many out dated clothing but also things that despite being cute, didn’t fit or flatter HER. When editing your closet it is really important to make sure everything FITS WELL. If it doesn’t, bring it to the tailor, store it or give it away. Your closet should be full of items that you can grab, put on and instantly look GOOD.
But as luck did have it, I made out with a bag full of goodies. Since I am about 6 inches taller than her, things that were too big for her fit me perfectly! Stay tuned to see!

I have been searching high and low for a pair of leopard booties and they are sold out everywhere!
If anyone sees a cute pair (preferably platform like these) let me know!!
