I had so much fun celebrating my birthday this weekend! As a result I am sluggish and off to a slow start this morning. Even though my bf couldn’t be there, he ordered me a yummy gluten free red velvet cake from my favorite cupcake place (even though they spelled my name wrong!) That pretty flower ring was a gift from Patti (love it!)

I love jeans. Dark jeans, light jeans, ripped jeans skinny jeans, flare jeans…well you get the point. When I get dressed most days I go to my jeans first and then pair everything around them. I have jeans from varying price points but I have found that as far as inexpensive jeans go America Eagle has some really great ones that flatter girls with hips!
This is the Obey Necklace from Lulu’s that I won on a giveaway over at Red Vines For Breakfast.
{Silk Top – Jones New York (thrifted), Jeans – American Eagle, Necklace – Lulu’s, Ring – Forever21, Shoes – Jessica Simpson,, Bag – B. Makowski}
Sometimes it’s nice to just throw on a pair of great fitting jeans and go. I kept it simple with this thrifted blouse also seen here and JS pumps I got for my birthday a few years ago.
Speaking of b-day’s mine is this week! I am excited to spoil myself a little bit and celebrate with friends. It’s the one time of year it’s excepted to celebrate yourself and I intend to do just that!

Last week my bf and I had a scene very much like this one. Except it was in the airport. And I had mascara running down my face. So NOT glamorous. For 2 days I looked like someone had punched me in the face. He is gone now and I am left feeling sad. He’s not gone for good though, he will be back at the end of February for a few days before he ships off to Iraq, still, that will be so quick I won’t even know it happened. And then let the year of separation commence.
It’s funny how emotional situations can manifest themselves physically. I felt hungover and slightly delusional the first day. But when you are in these situations there is really only one thing to do: call in reinforcements…
Girlfriends and alcohol! I made sure to busy myself with plans all weekend. I called my friend Mel from Modanista Junkie and since we were having a heatwave in Los Angeles, we decided to go ride our bikes down the beach and grab some sunny day cocktails. Funny how it can put a smile on the saddest of faces!
I went out on the town, over friends houses and some came over mine. I was surrounded by love and support and that makes life a whole lot easier! Thank goodness for good friends!!
Now entering a new week, I am feeling (some what) better. I have you, my amazing blogger friends to focus on! Thank you all for your kind words and support!! You are amazing!

So I got a phone call the other day from a friend asking I do an impromptu photo shoot to market a product she’s launching (details coming soon). Since the bf’s in town still I had him tag along. As it turns out the male model hadn’t shown up and they asked the bf to stand in! My type A east coast bf comes to LA and leaves a male model! So cute!!
Here’s some pics from the shoot!
PS. Recognize the dress??
