You-know-who is over in Iraq and since he left I have found myself short on patience to the petty woes and complaining from the people around me. Not to mention the events in Japan, you would think people would take a moment and gain a little perspective.
Well at least I have. So today I am trying to enjoy a few simple things and allow them to bring me a little happiness.
1.) Spring Bouquet I picked up at Trader Joe’s to brighten my apartment.
2.) New to me Tangerine Sandals to pair with flirty warm weather dresses.
3.) Good books to curl up and read before bed to tire out my mind.
4.) Chunky cocktail rings gifted from recent events to add to my accessory collection.
5.) Pretty stationary for writing love letters to a certain soldier.
6.) Sweet smelling candles to fill my apartment with a fresh spring scent. (Lemon cupcake…yum!)
Happy day!

Last week I was invited by the lovely people at Bollare to attend a breakfast with Gilt City. It was being held at Cecconi’s restaurant in West Hollywood and I was so excited I didn’t even blink at the fact that I had to be there early. (It was after all breakfast!)
Of course no fashion event would be complete without my blogger partner in crime Mel.

The other day I did the first part of this outfit post with my new (and absolute favorite!) denim jacket. That outfit was styled for daytime and today I am styling it for night.
When I do one item two way posts I often (but not always) try to find ways that I can transform a day look into night with very minimal fuss. I try to choose pieces that you could throw in a bag and change into without having to go home if you wanted. Living in Los Angeles, this has become somewhat of an art form. There are days when I am too far away (in LA Traffic distance) and going home to change is completely impractical.
For this look I simply swapped out the black skinnies for a pencil skirt, the leopard flats for leopard maryjane pumps, the chunky mod cloth ring for a bigger, more sparkly flower ring, traded my day bag for a clutch and threw my hair up in a messy bun. Voila! Simple presto change-o that literally takes 2 minutes. And this look can be worn out to dinner, or to meet friends for drinks. The denim jacket just gives it a playful, upbeat vibe
