Last week I ventured into downtown LA’s Santee Alleys for a shopping excursion. If you don’t know about this place and you live in the area, you should definitely make the trip. It’s bustling with people looking for fabric, fashion supplies and in my case phone bling and buttons. Yeah, I said phone bling. I picked up a few iPhone cases for a fraction of their cost in stores…and they sparkle. I have a thing for my sparkly phone and no I’m not 15.
Pardon the gray pics. This my friends is June gloom.

Yes these are the same leather Dolce Vita wedges I bought last year for $200 that they decided to create (a non leather version) for Target and sell for $40. I’m not bitter…

I told you the other day about my current obsession: Leopard and stripes together. As if I needed to convince you of this obsession right? Not intentional, just further solidifies it. I’m in love and it doesn’t look like this relationship will be ending anytime soon!
{Top- H&M, Romper – Target, Shoes – Privilege, Bag – Francesco Biasia, Necklace – Guess, Cuff – Mel Made, Ring – b-day gift}
Mel made me this really cool cuff which she brought over when I was already in this outfit. I was so excited and it happened to work perfectly! (want a Mel Made item? Enter her anniversary giveaway!)
And remember I told you about these leopard wedges? After much drama (a lost UPS package and a refund b/c they were then out of stock) I finally re-ordered them. Best. Purchase. Ever.

It’s amazing how an otherwise plain and uninteresting outfit can be taken to the next level with the right accessories. I decided to pile on loads of different pearl necklaces and add the shoes I dyed this teal color (which I showed you here) to give this look some visual interest. I think it worked!

I am a self proclaimed stripe addict. I also have a sweet spot for leopard…but put them together and I’m full fledged obsessing…can’t.get.enough!

Being around DIY queen Mel so much has made me look at things I want and realize they are things I can have just by making a few changes. Isn’t it great when friends rub off their good habits on you?
This blazer in the pic above had me at hello. I have a blazer in my closet almost identical (Last worn here) but for some reason when I wear it, it never looks quite as polished as this one. I finally realized it was those shiny gold buttons that were doing it for me. Mine didn’t have them. So I changed that.
I know this seems rather obvious…cut buttons off, sew buttons on…
$1.50 and 10 minutes later…Voila!
SO much better don’t you think?
