You know those things you have that you wear over and over again? Well this entire outfit is made up of those. From the denim jacket that I wear with everything down to my Towne and Reese jewelry. I am sure you are also sick of seeing that bag but this maxi on the other hand, is something new. I did tell you about this in last weeks Couture Cinco Video, but I hadn’t worn it in an outfit post until now.
I got this dress a few months back at Crossroads Trading Company. It was the colors that got my attention but when I pulled it off the rack and realized it was a maxi dress I sighed with disappointment. I don’t do Maxi’s you see. There are some trends meant only for certain body types and being more of Kim K. curvy than a Jessica Alba stick, I had it in my head that Maxi’s drew too much attention to my hips.
However, on this particular day, I was in one of those moods to try things on I wouldn’t normally try on so I took a risk and grabbed it off the rack. Truth be told in the back of my mind I thought ‘I could always take it to the tailor and shorten it…’

In the dressing room I put it on and couldn’t decide if I loved it or hated it. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting..in fact, it wasn’t bad at all! I hemmed and hawed with Mel about do I, don’t I… It’s hard to undo these preconceived notions already burned into your brain…I decided I did. I took it home and it has rapidly become my go to summer uniform. The most comfortable and easy piece of clothing in my wardrobe. So much so I bought another one!
The moral of this story? You might think you don’t, but if you open your mind and take a chance, you might find you actually do…and you just might love it.
This polka dot silk top is one of my new favorites. I scored this little treasure at Crossroads Trading Company for $8.50! Can you believe? I will be wearing this well into the fall but I couldn’t wait to take it for a test drive.
We had a cool start to the day so I paired it with this pair of destroyed jeans which incidentally keep getting more destroyed with every wear. I wonder how big that hole in my knee is gonna get…

Mel and I have been working our butts off getting The Wear to go Girls site ready to launch. I know I’ve been saying that for months but it’s true! You wouldn’t believe the amount of work that goes into such a venture…but I promise it will be worth the wait!
Summer’s in full swing and I feel like once the fourth of July passes it goes by in the blink of an eye. I decided to put together a summer ‘bucket list’ to try to inspire myself to not be all work and no play!
1.) Do another bikini photo shoot for bf like I did here. (Check!)
When asked to be a part of Couture Cinco I was surprised and flattered. How could I say no? Couture Cinco is an initiative started by Dena and Leia to showcase 5 international bloggers who are all passionate about fashion and beauty. Once a month we all post a V-log on the same topic.

Are you sick of stripes and leopard yet? I’m not! This seer sucker skirt (which comes from a Persian word meaning ‘milk and sugar’- You learn something new everyday! ) was bought for me last summer by my bf who happens to have a thing for ruffle skirts…
It’s on the shorter side (shocking coming from a boy) so I can’t exactly where it everywhere, but on hot days like we’ve been having in LA it comes in handy…the less material the better!
