Day to Night w/ Heather Belle

If you follow me on FB, Twitter or Instagram you know that I recently got the opportunity to view a beautiful collection of handbags by Heather Belle. Mel and I spent an afternoon interviewing her for The Wear to go Girls and she was so generous to gift us one of her stunning creations. We are excited to share the details of this amazing brand with you all when TWTGG launches but until then I decided to do a day to night post featuring two bags from her eco-friendly line. Each one is handmade in the US with top quality vegan leather. They really are pretty awesome! :)

Here is a day look with a great size messenger. And since the weather is still all over the place I layered this cropped sweater over a dress to run errands. Stay tuned for the night look! :)

Giving Thanks

Is it me or does the pic below look like I’ve been caught zipping up my pants? I thought it was funny so I included it. Sometimes it’s therapeutic to laugh at ourselves.

This is look 4 of the sequin jacket series. (Look one, two and three)

Most of the year we are all busy complaining about what we don’t have but this time of year we are suppose to reflect on what we do have. Since yesterday was Thanksgiving I figured I would put together a list of a few things I am thankful for.

-First and foremost, I have my health. I had a few tough years a little while back and I am truly thankful that it’s behind me.

-I have an amazingly adorable nephew who makes me smile and gives me a different perspective on life.

- My bf who although is still overseas and unable to be with us for Thanksgiving, is safe and our separation is almost over. I was able to see his face yesterday and that really made my day. (thankful for skype!)

-Great friends, who love me unconditionally and who have helped me get through a difficult year (with bf in Iraq)

-This blog and all of you who read it everyday, the opportunities it has given me to meet other bloggers, inspiring women in the fashion/beauty industry and the really great gifts I have been given from designers throughout the year. I feel lucky to be part of an amazing community of people women.

What are you guys thankful for?

Dear Santa…

Is it me or does it seem like Christmas is coming a little early this year? I feel like all the commercials, decor and even lights are up waaay earlier than normal. Isn’t it suppose to begin AFTER Thanksgiving? Although I must admit the Target lady commercials do have me cracking up. The one where she’s on the eliptical machine gets me every time.

Since holiday shopping insanity Black Friday is almost here I figured I’d give in to the madness. (If I had it my way the only thing I would get for Christmas is the bf returning from Iraq…(sigh)…not gonna happen so I’ll just drown in material lust thank you very much!) Here are a few things I have been lusting throughout the year…

1.  CC Skye Mercy Spike Bracelet

2. Love Python Print Asymmetrical Maxi Dress

3. Equipment Fawn Sophie Blouse

4. iPad 2

5. Sam Edelman Roza Pump

6. Sam Edelman Marina Pump

7. Druzy Agate Ring

8. Kenneth Jay Lane Polished Multi Row Necklace

9. Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C. Clutch

10. Knitted Sequin Sweater

Festive and Inspired

I love this time of year. The holiday’s come and everyone seems to be happy and in the spirit of giving. Warm drinks, fun parties, good friends and fashion becomes shiny and glittery…That’s one reason I chose this sequin blazer for November’s style series–it’s the perfect festive piece!

This is look 3 (You can see the first two looks here and here.)

I love mixing edgy and feminine and there’s nothing like a pop of color to tie it all together. Ever since dying this clutch I use it so much more. Speaking of clutches did you guys see the beautiful clutch I was generously given by Heather Belle? You absolutely NEED to check out her handbags. They are handmade in the US, absolutely gorgeous and she really has an amazing uplifting inspirational message (particularly for woman) in her work. When you carry one of her bags you truly feel like you have something special. I was lucky enough to interview her last week for The Wear to go Girls and I left with such a sense of womanhood. Isn’t it amazing when you meet other woman who make you feel like you can do anything?

Btw have you entered the Sassyhooks giveaway? If you haven’t you definitely should! Save your handbags from the public restroom floor (and look cute doing it!)
