5 New Skincare Products to help Winter Skin Problems

This post is sponsored by Target, but all opinions are ALWAYS my own. Thank you for supporting the amazing brands that make Glam Latte possible!

I’ve been talking about skin a lot this month, but seriously, winter skin is torture! It affects everything, including how my makeup looks.

One of the things that frustrates me about skin-care products, especially in the winter, is the number of drying ingredients (like alcohol, for example) that are in them. Even the so-called ”natural’ products can sometimes have more ingredients than I can handle.

I heard about a new line at Target called S.W. Basics that makes truly clean, truly natural ingredients. (Just look at the label!) I’ve mentioned a few times in skin-care discussions my love for witch hazel, and I am convinced apple-cider vinegar is a magic elixir (I was able to banish strep throat with it. YES. Let me know if you want me to do a post on this!)

So when I saw the S.W. Basics Toner, I was like, yaaas girl! But to be sure, I spoke with the Target Beauty Concierge to get her thoughts. I mentioned her in a few makeup posts when I headed to Target to get some holiday makeup. That worked out well, so I decided to discuss my skin-care goals. She had nothing but great things to say about the S.W. Basics line. She also recommended a few other products to incorporate into my routine to tackle some of the winter skin issues I have been having. I wanted to share what I got and let you know what I think so far.

1.The Problem: Combination Winter Skin (dry but still having a pimple or two during that time of the month)

The Solution: The S.W. Basics Toner. Ob-sessed. You will get over the fact that this smells like ACV, because your skin is going to look amazing. I’ve used toner in the past that instantly strips my skin and dries it out. This does not do that. As soon as it absorbs into my skin it looks healthy and radiant. If you guys are experiencing random breakouts but you are also dry during the winter, you really need this in your life!

2. The Problem: Large Pores.

The Solution: Que Bella Pore Minimizing Facial Mud MaskYou guys, this mask is everything! If you watch my videos and makeup tutorials, you know I talk about the fact that I have large pores and the struggle to find things that minimize them, is real. I put this mask on for 15 minutes, and after, it was like I had a $100 pore minimizing facial. The best part? It was $1.79! I’m running back to Target to buy like 20 of these.

3. The problem: Dry Skin (aka dry patches under my makeup)

The Solution: Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Souffle Moisturizer.  When you think about a whipped coconut souffle, think about this moisturizer, because that’s exactly what it looks like. It is rich, it is hydrating and it instantly makes your skin look moisturized. I cannot say enough about this stuff. I use it in the daytime right before I put on my makeup.

4.The Problem: Left over makeup, large pores, aging skin.

The Solution: Lydia Mondavi Replenishing Toner & Pore Purifying Facial PadAfter I wash my face, I like to check to make sure I got all of the makeup off, especially if I was uber glammed up that day. Most face wipes are too harsh for my skin, but I like these because they not only take off any residual makeup, but they are great for anti-aging with a grape-seed-age-protection formula containing antioxidants and vitamins. They also help minimize pores.

5.The Problem: Dry, Chapped Lips

The Solution: Yes to Coconuts Naturally Smooth Lip BalmDry lips are the WORST, especially when liquid lipsticks are so on trend and are already somewhat drying! I am always on the lookout for great lip balm, and this one is THE BEST. With other balms, I have to keep applying for several hours (and sometimes days) to get the hydration to come back. With this one, it is literally instantaneous. I like to use it before bed so I wake up and my lips are silky smooth.

I love that Target has stepped up their skin-care game and is now incorporating higher-end products in addition to drugstore brands. It can be overwhelming and, since everyone’s skincare needs are different, I highly recommend talking to your Target Beauty Concierge about what products are right for you.
