Bacara Resort Holiday Getaway

Last weekend I was lucky enough to head up to Santa Barbara for a brief stay at Bacara Resort & Spa. For those of you who don’t know, Santa Barbara is known for it’s sprawling vineyards, amazing wineries and delicious wine. It is also where this beautiful resort and spa is located. It sits right on the ocean, adding to it’s charm.

It was my besties’ birthday so we decided to have a little girls getaway. Bacara Resort is far enough away from LA to feel like you went on a trip, but close enough that you can go for a short time and don’t have to waste too much of your getaway on the actual travel (it’s an hour and a half drive.) We were lucky enough to drive in style with an Audi A3 which was so cool and full of all kinds of fun technological features.

When we got there it started raining (which is a rare occurrence in So Cal) but there was so much for us to do we didn’t mind. We were greeted by doormen holding umbrellas to keep us dry as we stepped out of the car. They not only took the car, but all of our bags inside it so we didn’t have to deal with lugging them around.

First stop was their wine tasting lounge (of course) where we were blown away by the delicious wines and every glass was better than the last. After that we headed to our villa and when we stepped inside we were like kids at Disneyland. It was a one bedroom suite with a living room, 2 bathrooms (!!), and 2 balconies with an ocean view. It was simply amazing. There were gorgeous flowers waiting for the birthday girl and we sat and enjoyed the glass of wine we took from the winery back to the room. An hour later it was time to hit the spa. It was so relaxing to hit the steam, sauna and jacuzzi all while sipping on bubbly. It was the perfect place for quality girl time while it rained away. Next we headed back to get prettied up for dinner at the on site restaurant Bistro, which provided our bellies just what they needed for the bottle of champagne and some birthday treats we had waiting for us back in our villa. Of course this called for a slumber party – lots of bubbly and plenty of laughs.

The next day the rainstorm passed and the sun came out so we could explore the beauty of the grounds. It was so peaceful and lovely, the perfect place for a holiday getaway. We were told the summer is a bit more bumpin so it you want something more intimate, this is a great time to go. The holiday decorations were absolutely gorgeous and had a coastal theme woven throughout.

I could’ve stayed there so much longer than we did, but that’s the thing about getaways…you have to come back.

A huge thanks to Bacara Resort & Spa for making our stay so memorable and thanks to Audi for our chariot. Stay tuned tomorrow for a video of my adventures.

What an absolutely gorgeous spot for a little pre-holiday relaxation! I can't get over how gorgeous the Christmas tree is… I'm kind of wishing I could swap it out with the one in my apartment right about now 😉
