Coffee Talk // Summer Time Update

Summer

It’s time for the summer edition of Coffee Talk, my seasonal update of what’s been going on in my world and what’s to come! So let’s just jump right into it.

If you’ve been stopping by regularly the last few months, you’ve seen I’ve been putting up quite a few videos. I am really working on my Youtube channel, because on camera anchoring/hosting is what I’m in grad school for. It only makes sense that I really start focusing on it! My videos are beauty and fashion related but I will be working some other things in like some behind the scenes stuff and of course, I’m open to shooting stuff you guys want to see. So please subscribe to my channel and help me grow by giving my videos a thumbs up when you like them, and commenting with your thoughts! I read all my comments and I always respond!

I went to a few fun events this summer. One was the DSTLD dinner which I did a more detailed post about here. I also attended Fashion for Breakfast with Lubrov Azria. If you don’t know her, she’s the Queen B behind one of my favorite brands, BCBG. She’s such an upbeat, positive, inspirational woman who really encourages women to support one another. It’s rare in the fashion world to find a mentor and nurturer who is as powerful and successful as Mrs. Azria, she’s a diamond in the rough.

Pose launched their marketplace a few months back and it’s pretty awesome! It is one of the more user friendly buy/sell/trade apps with no shadiness, just straight up shopping. I have a closet on there and I’m continuing to add items so if you want to shop my closet please go check it out! You can do it on the web, or download the app to your phone. You can also see the OOTD poses I upload all in the same place!

When I can squeeze it in, I’ve also been doing summery things. I got a pretty neoprene python bikini from Triangl that is perfect for pool parties like the one I attended in Malibu thrown by Kia Motors. Such a gorgeous day and no pool party is complete without a pool swan!

I recently discovered Nail Garden which you guys have to checkout if you live in the LA area. It’s a one stop beauty shop with nails, waxing and even blowouts! There are a few locations and they did an amazing job. I will be doing a more detailed post about it next week, but if you do stop by to one of their locations (Studio City, Manhattan Beach or Hermosa Beach) and mention Glam Latte, you will receive 15% off all services!!

So now onto what I have coming up. First, I am working on a secret project that I can’t wait to share with you! What I can tell you, is it involves videos and some awesome fashion and beauty. Make sure you follow me on instagram as I will be dropping hints and you don’t want to miss it!

The other thing I’m gearing up for is travel. I will be attending fashion week while I’m in London and I am over the moon about it! Last fall I attended NYFW, but I’ve never been to one outside the US. I’m so excited to be introduced to new designers and see new collections of some old favorites! I will of course be taking you all along for the ride with photos and videos of my adventures! Aside from fashion, I will be there to partake in some serious journalism, researching health and obesity in the UK for the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting. It is both a huge honor and responsibility. I am excited and nervous, especially with all I will be juggling, but I will be over seas for an entire month! After London I will be hitting Mykonos to unwind and do some writing. It’s been a dream of mine to go to the Greek Islands and I am finally making it come true!

And on a personal note, I have also begun cutting out the toxins in my life. In order to allow the good things in, you need to cut out the things or people who are getting in the way. I’ve had some epiphanies lately about what and who those were and have begun to make changes. I feel like the universe has forced it on me, because I was dragging my feet and doing it slowly. Sometimes change is hard, but life is short and I’m learning ripping the bandaid is sometimes best.

Thank you all for your love and support, it means the world to me!

XO,
