Summer is around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. Days at the beach, margaritas with girlfriends, digging into a good book, long bike rides…all of which is spent in flowy maxi’s, cut off shorts, bikini’s and sandals. Last week we had some summer weather which inspired these cut offs and this sheer top. It definitely put me in the mood to begin compiling my summer bucket list. So far it looks like this:

1.) Have outrageous amounts of fun.

Last week was a whirlwind. It began Sunday with several pre Lucky FABB events including a delicious brunch, a shopping safari on a double decker bus and a cocktail party hosted by Kelly Wearstler at her Melrose Ave boutique. As if  that wasn’t enough, Kelly made us each these handmade tie dyed tees and to say I love it would be quite an understatement. Never underestimate the power of an amazing distressed tee shirt!

The conference itself was beyond fun. We did a complete recap on The Wear to go Girls today (we officially launched last week!!) so head over there to get all the details!

If you follow me on any one of my social networks you know that yesterday I attended some pre-Lucky FABB festivities. I had an amazing time and today I will be going to the conference. I couldn’t be more excited to attend! I will be reporting live via Twitter, FB and Instagram (@glamlatte) all day so feel free to catch up with me over there. I feel like it’s been ages! I’m sure you’ve noticed my loooong absence and I’ve been meaning to touch base but life has a way of sucking you in sometimes. I’ve been in editing mode for TWTGG’s official launch (eeek!) Tuesday May 1st!! It’s so exciting but SO MUCH work! If you blog and sometimes feel like your blog post takes up a big chunk of your time, multiply that by about 1000 and you’ll get an idea of what it’s been like. It’s good busy, exciting busy and of course I love it so I’m definitely not complaining, but I am am trying to explain why le blog as been a bit neglected. I am really excited to take a little editing time out for Lucky FABB! I can’t wait to re unite with some blogger friends and meet some new ones!  Santa Monica is about to be taken over by some serious fashion mavens! Are any of you going?

The minute I layed eyes on this studded clutch by Valentino, I was smitten. It was way out of budget, so I had considered creating a DIY version. Then being the amazing friend that she is, Mel brought me this one home from a business trip to NYC. Since I’ve been on the go as much as I have been it’s been a great way to bring simple outfits up a notch.  :)

As you probably figured out from my erratic at best posting schedule, things have been busy. But then again I think I’ve said that the last 10 posts or so…
Anyway if you are following me on anyone of the 572 social media outlets (I mean really can you guys keep up?!) you know that The Wear to go Girls has finally gone live. We are in a “soft launch” phase which basically means we are live but new content is not being added yet. This is for us to iron out any kinks and get feedback about the site’s content and functionality. So please check it out and let us know what you think! I picked up this top last time I was at Crossroads Trading Company. I was really drawn to the color but I also loved the interesting detail on the sleeve. I wore this the other day to a coffee shop meeting. It feels like lately I live inside coffee shops but honestly I feel focused and get a lot done when I’m there. Today I have a mile long to do list so I’m off to try to make a dent!

Ever since browsing this Marc by Marc Jacobs look book on Shopbop the other day I’ve been obsessed with this haircut. I keep wondering if it would work for me and even more if I would get sick of it. Bangs…. I have NEVER had bangs (well not this short anyway) The grow out phase seems like it would be torture! This has me slightly scissor shy but does the fact that I can’t stop thinking about this haircut mean I should just take the plunge? What do you guys think?

It’s funny how things can pile up (even more) when you leave town for only a few days. So do I have time to be writing this post you ask? The answer is no, but I can’t help but share with you something that happened on my trip.

First let me give you some back story…

When you begin blogging there is that exciting time when people start catching wind of your blog and begin commenting on your posts. You take it personal and are so humbled by their comments. One of the first people to comment on mine was Amanda from ACoest1984. Naturally I went to her blog to learn about her and return the comments. It became a thing where we were visiting each other’s blogs daily, commenting on each others lives and eventually began to joke that we were blogger besties (bbff) even though we had never met. Major life changes occurred and our commenting turned into emailing and skyping and we talked each other through a lot of things over the years. We vowed we would one day meet but really not knowing if it where possible given that we lived so far in different countries. (Amanda is from Canada)

Fast forward to last weekend in Orlando…I posted a picture on instagram of the pool at the hotel I was staying and used hashtag #Orlando. I got a comment from Amanda that she was going to be flying in there to meet her family for vacation. I was somewhat deflated to learned I was leaving the same day she arrived but then she said she was actually flying in when I would be at the airport! We made arrangements to meet for lunch and finally had the unlikely meeting we had both hoped we would. Although we were exhausted (me from the trip and her from her flight) we chatted for hours and were both pretty happy it worked out.

Some people see blogging as a silly hobby or a self indulgent waste of time, but the truth is it is a tool with the power to connect you to people you wouldn’t otherwise, whether it be in another country, or a few towns away. And if you’re lucky, those connections can have some serious impact on your life….just look at US

I am off to Florida for a few days with the bf to attend some Yellow Ribbon events for his service in Iraq. Since Florida is always ridiculously humid I know shorts will certainly be in order. I was in desperate need of some packing inspiration and these are some images I found and re-pinned on Pinterest (follow me @glamlatte).
