How to Fight the Signs of Aging Hair

I love a good anti aging product. I’ve been using them since my early twenties and I’m convinced this was the best decision ever. Thanks to Zotos AGEbeautiful for sponsoring this post.

But when it comes to anti aging products, typically we think skincare right? But what about your hair? Of course there are grays to contend with and I’ve been getting these little baby hairs sprouting up in the form of wiry grays. The joy!

But aside from just grays, our hair shows age in other ways. Scalp sebum decreases by 50% as we age (so weird!) causing the scalp and hair to become dry and dull. Our hair also experiences five other signs of aging. It loses volume, manageability, color, moisture, and shine.

Ok so why am I telling you all this?

I am super excited to announce that I teamed up with Zotos Professional and a hair color brand that has created products that fight the signs of aging and ALSO cover grays! Their AGEbeautiful Anti-Aging Haircolor line is one I have tried, tested, loved and talked about before, so it just made sense to become an ambassador for the brand!

I am really excited to share my experiences over the next 6 months and answer any questions you guys have.

So to kick things off I of course had to head over to Sally Beauty to pick up the product. My hair is literally showing ALL of the signs of aging right now – it is especially super dull and dry. The AGEbeautiful line contains melanin, keratin peptide silk protein as well as a patented conditioning technology, so I’m hoping it takes care of all of it!

AGEbeautiful is the first professional haircolor that’s proven to fight all the signs of aging hair, going beyond gray coverage to make hair feel fuller, silkier and shinier.

I am going to have a dedicated highlight in my stories so you guys can follow along. Right now you can find some clips of the shopping trip. I was debating between going with the permanent or demi permanent, but I opted for demi this time. I also was trying to decide how dark I was going to go and I ended up doing 3N which is Darkest Brown. I might go darker next time, but I will be staying in the deep chocolate color family.

And because I did choose demi permanent, I had to also get the demi developer. I also grabbed a bottle and some gloves. I debated doing a mixing bowl but I’ve always used a bottle when doing home color in the past so I went with it. I think next time I might try the bowl and brush. I’m curious, what do you use? Leave me a comment and let me know.

The last time I used AGEbeautiful, I did the permanent color and I had a great experience, so I wanted to switch it up and give this a try. I will be documenting my results as we go, including how long it lasts, when I see my first gray pop up after I color and how much time between color I end up going. I will also be documenting before and afters so you can see how my hair changes through the process. Oh and they also have Root Touch Up Sprays which are water, sweat and stain resistant and help to temporarily conceal grays in seconds. I also picked one of those up so I will be trying that out as well!

I’m excited for this little hair color journey, I hope you guys are too.
