Working on my Fitness for Summer

I mentioned last week that I was going to be focusing on getting ready for summer (aka bikini weather) and there’s no better place to start than with a good sweat session. I work on my fitness daily, but I understand that not everyone has lots of spare time in a day to workout as much as they want. I put together a really great interval workout that I think is perfect for those days when you may only have 30 minutes. (If you have more time you can always do extra sets.) I am going to put the workout below.

The other thing I wanted to talk about relating to fitness, is this new tea I discovered called Mate Fit. I’m doing the Mate Fit Ultimate 28 day TeaTox. It comes with two kinds, one to boost the metabolism and one for detoxing. I’ve been using them both and I really like them.  The instructions say to drink one tea before breakfast and one before lunch. (I have actually only been drinking one a day because often times I get busy and forget) The detox I take before bed and the directions say to drink it every other night. The tea comes loose and you just spoon a tablespoon into the individual bags that come included.

The metabolism tea gives me a little zing of energy which is why I like to drink it before my morning workout. The detox tea is a bit spicy and I feel like I get a good sleep on those nights. I wouldn’t exactly say these taste ‘good’ but as soon as they cool I just chug them down. You can opt to sweeten them but I don’t even bother. They noticeably help with two things: curbing cravings and boosting energy, both are key when trying to get in shape. If you struggle with either of those things you can give these teas a try. The workout is 6 exercises, 1 minute each. Repeat each set 4 times which will take you 24 minutes. The workout is deisigned to have you on your feet, on the ground and back on your feet again. This up and down switch up with keep your heart rate up and and your body guessing which will burn a whole lot of calories.

Jumping Jacks – Make sure your hands touch at the top and you keep a good pace. 1 min

Push Ups- You can do the ‘girl’ version on your knees. Keep a good pace. 1 min

Squats – keep your knees behind your toes and drop like your sitting in a chair. 1 min

Full Body crunches- start with laying completely flat on the ground with your arms above your head then crunch up bringing your knees into your chest. 1 min See pic below
