Fringe + Leather + A Watch for Our Times

Watch

In the age of smart phones, we have lost the use for things that at one time were a necessity, such as a watch. Since our phone tells the time, there just hasn’t been a need for a watch, until now. Motorola has created a new smart watch called Moto 360 that syncs with your phone to not only tell the time, but check the weather, respond to text messages, emails, get directions, check social media and more. Of course when Mode asked if I wanted to try it I jumped at the chance! You can add apps, give it Google voice commands, set calendar notifications and use the health tracker that tracks distance covered, steps taken, heart rate, calories burned etc. This thing is serious! We live in this technology driven world so at this point a watch only for the time is outdated. The convenience and efficiency of having one that has multiple functions and can connect to the internet… amazing!

My job requires that I am always connected. However if I am in a business meeting and expecting an important email it can seem rude to check my phone. This is when this watch is a lifesaver. It’s much more discreet and gives me all the info I need. I can also check my schedule so if someone tries to book me for something I can just look down at my watch to find out my availability. Also it allows me the ability to ‘unplug.’ On the weekends I can leave my phone in my bag and if something important comes up or if someone needs to reach me, I will know.

Ok, now let’s get to the outfit shall we? I wore this fringe sweater a few weeks ago in a more casual look and I kind of can’t get enough of it. I love the black and white combo and the fringe makes it special. It’s really versatile so it can be worn with skirts, jeans or leather leggings like I did here. I played with texture but I kept gloomy color palette (to match the gloomy rain we were having) with these grey cut out booties. I added this white bucket back which is new in (and loving!) For accessories I kept it simple with gold per usual, and my black Moto 360 with black leather band. (It also comes in grey and silver, gold and champagne metals – you can learn more about Moto 360 here.) I tied it all together with my black trench that is on major repeat right now. Talk about the perfect LA jacket!
