Yesterday I brought you my massive photo diary from my trip to Greece, today I am bringing you a little video diary/vlog of my time there. Some of the footage is a bit shakey, I apologize for that, but despite I hope you enjoy it and really get a feel for how amazing it was. I’ve said it before, but I highly recommend putting it on your bucket list. I think everyone should get to experience this place at least once in their lifetime. For now my travels are finished so it’s back to business as usual, but I will come back and watch this often and remind myself that I need to go back!

I had a lot to say yesterday so I won’t repeat myself. You can checkout my photo diary if you haven’t already to get a more detailed run down.

XO,

Love your blog, but it’s pretty disappointing that as someone from Boston, you wouldn’t take a second to send a message of support to any Canadian readers you have after the horrible events in Ottawa yesterday. You know what it’s like to see your hometown attacked, so I’d think you’d want to acknowledge any readers you have who are Canadian and can now sadly identify with your experience. In fact, isn’t your BBFF from Ottawa?

I'm sorry but I guess I'm out of the loop. Not sure what happened in Ottawa…?? I haven't watched the news at all the past few days as I've been in a bit of a bubble with work and school. I've seen my BBFF on instagram and she didn't mention anything. Not deliberately avoiding anything, just not in the know. I will look into it. That being said, I very rarely bring current news events onto my blog, not because I don't empathize or want to connect with my readers, but I reserve those types of things for social media. That way, this remains a place of positivity and escape from the crappy things in life. But I will definitely turn on the news and find out what happened and reach out to Amanda and my other Canadian readers on Twitter. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention! xoxo 🙂

Makes sense. I guess I thought you might have mentioned what happened in Ottawa due to your being from Boston and the fact that when there was a terrorist attack in Boston you wrote about it on your blog, but if you hadn’t heard about the events in Ottawa then that’s fine. I’m not sure how much Canadian news is covered in the US anyway. 🙂

I understand. I tweeted at Amanda and she said the situation was scary, but everyone was ok. I did try to look it up and there was limited information. Terrorist attacks of any kind, any where, are heartbreaking. It makes me angry and sad and its a painful reminder that there are terrible people in the world and life is precious and short. You know when the bombing happened in Boston, I had both friends and family at the marathon that day. I was very lucky that none were hurt, however a friend of a friend was killed. It was tragic and devastating, and I felt, perhaps how you feel – violated. When it hits your turf, your home, with your 'people' it tends to hit a much larger nerve. Though I never post about that stuff, that post came from that place, a place of 'how dare they.' I did question whether or not I should have gone there, but in the moment it just felt right. I feel very sad for what happened in Canada, and I hope that we have seen the last of it and it can go back to being a peaceful place. (and from what Amanda says, very cold! 😉

Ottawa has the same weather as in Boston, pretty much…maybe a little colder during the winter but I’ve been to Boston during the winter and it definitely did not feel like I was getting a break from the cold!!! May through September, sometimes even October in Ottawa are usually lovely…usually in the 70s and well above during the summer months. You’d like the city if you ever decide to visit. I don’t live in Ottawa anymore but I grew up there and all of my family is still there.

Yeah that sounds a lot lie Boston weather. Sometimes during the holidays I miss that weather being in LA (seeing Christmas lights on palm trees is a little weird!) I've been to Montreal once but never to Ottawa. One day I hope to get there! xo
