A Maxi Dress and a Day at the Beach

If you watch Game of Thrones, you know what I’m talking about when I say each week I look forward to seeing what Daenerys Targaryen will be wearing. I love her beautiful draped gowns and when I put this maxi dress on, it immediately reminded me of them. I love the sheer draped layer over the slip dress and the way it flows when I walk. I decided to play with the ethereal feel and pair it with these high gladiator sandals. I absolutely love these. I’ve been wanting a pair for awhile and I have been having fun finding ways to style them. Paired with this dress, they give a cross between a Game of Thrones and ancient Roman feel. This maxi dress also looks amazing with regular sandals and heels, but after watching the past few episodes, I was inspired to have a little fun and do something a bit different. I always say, if you can’t play with fashion and have fun, what’s the point, right?

Aside from channeling fictional characters, I love a maxi dress for summer. It’s the perfect option when it’s hot and you want to look effortlessly chic. They make beautiful dresses and play with lots of prints and textures. What I like most, particularly about the few dresses I have, is that they can be dressed up or down and worn for day or night.

Can we talk about this beach? This little gem is hidden away very close to where I live. After having lunch, my bf and I decided to head over and check it out.I have been here many times, but this was his first. It looks like something out of a movie and almost makes me feel like I have been transported to somewhere else. Every once in awhile, that’s kind of a good thing.
