How to Get Microdermabrasion at Home

I was not blessed with great skin. I have a lot of strengths, I have just come to accept that my skin, isn’t one of them. As a result, I am always working on it and you may notice that I spend a lot of trying and reviewing new skincare products. I share all the good ones with you guys and the bad ones I don’t, but this new product I’m going to share with you today is pretty amazing.

We’ve all heard of microdermabrasion right? Well PMD is a Personal Microderm at-home skincare tool that provides the same results as professional, in-office microdermabrasion treatments. It works to remove the dead, dull skin cell barrier, increase blood flow, and stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin.

If the thought of this calls to mine the episode of Carrie’s book launch when Samantha showed up and shocked everyone, don’t worry, it’s NOTHING like that! This is a SAFE and effective way to tackle all of your major skin concerns (whether it be acne scars, blemishes, hyper-pigmentation or in my case, very large pores) with no down time.

I’ve been self conscious about my pores for as long as I can remember. Even now when I play back makeup tutorial videos sometimes I cringe at how large they look in HD. And now there’s 4D (LAWD can a girl get a break?!) One of the only things you can do to manage pore size is exfoliate…A LOT. So when I read the way the PMD exfoliates I was excited to try it. PMD-c-3

I want to give you some of the tech stuff so you can understand what this device does specifically to help your skin:

  1. Exfoliation: PMD uses a spinning disc with aluminum oxide crystals to exfoliate away the dead, dull cells on the skin. By removing this dead skin cell barrier, new cell growth is stimulated and renewed, revealing soft, brilliant and rejuvenated skin.
  2. Suction: The PMD uses a calibrated vacuum suction that pulls the blood flow to the surface of the skin for increased blood flow and circulation. This suction triggers the body to build collagen and elastin which leaves the skin firm and radiant.
  3. Absorption: Once this barrier is removed from exfoliation, skin care products fully penetrate the skin. This maximizes the benefits of skincare products and helps to restore and perfect the skin, leaving it gentle, rich, brilliant and bright.

All said and done, you’re wondering ‘does it work?’ and the answer is yes. I have used it once so far and I saw noticeable results immediately. I want to put a disclaimer that in these photos I am demonstrating how to use it, but they were taken a few days AFTER the first time I used it. After one use, it made a difference in how glowy my face looked and how nice my makeup laid on the skin.

Literally the session takes a minute. It’s so fast you can do it at night before bed You simply pull the skin taught and glide the device over each area of the face (avoiding the eye area!) Then apply a toner and moisturizer and go to bed and let it work it’s magic. I do appreciate that it isn’t time consuming what so ever.

My pores aren’t dramatically smaller just yet, but I only started with the beginner disk which is the most gentle. It is recommended to use that one first and then wait 6 days to try the next level. I plan on doing it again in a few days and I will let you guys know how I like it as I get to the more advanced disks.

I am also excited to let you guys know that I have a promo code to share with you that will get you a discount of 15% off a PMD device if you want to get one for yourself! Just use the code ‘Ask Brand‘ at checkout!

I am going to be sharing more of my PMD on snapchat and if you guys want to see an ‘All About Pores’ video discussing all the ways I fight large pores, leave me a comment and I will make it for you!
