One of my favorite parts of my job is getting introduced to new brands and this season I have a few I wanted to share. I feel like self care is even more important right now and now that I am finally all moved into my new house, finding a routine that incorporates self care is something I’m definitely working on. Here are some ideas to get you started this winter/ holiday season.

AT HOME MANI/PEDI

When I think about self care, one of the first things I think about is a mani/pedi. Since going to the salon is a bit difficult at the moment, at home pamper sessions are necessary. One major winter issue I have (and I’m sure a lot of you do too) is dry cracked feet. Depending on the climate you live, it could be mild or severe, but it’s definitely a universal winter issue. I usually rely on the salon to help keep my feet looking good, but one brand I recently tried was Kerasal. Their Intensive Foot Repair is pretty magical! It loosens hard, dry skin to both hydrate and exfoliate and gives visible results in 1 day. This is perfect for an at home pedicure.

So I did a before and after, treating one foot to compare to the other and then I broke that foot…as in two days ago (I can’t make this stuff up…2020 is the gift that keeps on giving!) So that foot is 10 shades of purple (trust me, you do not want to see it) and in a walking boot. So what I’m going to do is a before and after of the other foot and update you in a few days. Either way, I am sure glad I have it on hand, because after being wrapped up in a walking boot all day for the next several weeks, the broken foot is going to get pretty dry. My plan is to apply this a few times a week.

This brand also has their Multi-Purpose Nail Repair, which I have yet to try, but it’s the #1 Dr. Recommended Brand so I plan to try this before my next at home gel manicure. What it is, is a solution that improves the appearance of nails that get damaged for a variety of reasons including gel manicure damage. It also treats Psoriasis, aging, and fungus. It claims to give visible improvements after one week and to continue use for up to 3 to 6 months for full effect. I will let you guys know how it goes over the next few months. I’m doing gel nails at home every other week so I need all the help i can get!

Both products are available on Amazon and Target.

GOOD SKINCARE

There’s literally no reason not to really dial in a good skincare routine right now, especially for all those zoom meetings and family FaceTime sessions. My skin gets particularly dry in the winter and I’ve been really liking the Humphreys® Witch Hazel Soothe with Rose Alcohol Free Mist. Rose is added to make it soothing, Hyaluronic Acid boosts the hydration and it’s clean beauty! They use certified organic wild harvested witch hazel,  and it’s distilled to preserve its natural potency. Humphreys is not diluted and all their products are free of dyes, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten and are vegan, cruelty free and dermatologist tested.

It’s a great anytime product, so you can use it after your normal cleansing routine or I just mist it all over my face whenever I need a boost of hydration – even over my makeup.

And if you have a breakout, you need to try Terminator 10. This is an acne treatment that in addition to containing Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide to actively fight pimples, it also includes chamomile and ginger to soothe and calm the skin. It also prevents new blemishes from forming! (Say what?!?!)

Just apply a thin layer over the breakout once a day or every other day depending on how sensitive your skin is. Also, an important thing to note, benzoyl peroxide may permanently bleach or stain colored towels and fabrics. So while you use this, you may want to use a white towel and washcloth to help minimize chances of discoloration.

GET OUT OF THOSE SWEATS

If you’re working from home, like a lot of us are right now, you might be tempted to live in sweats. But one of the easiest at home self care rituals you can do,  is to literally just get dressed. And I mean get dressed in something cute – something you’d wear out. (You can even take a mirror selfie and post it to your Instastories!) For me, I notice a HUGE difference in my motivation, productivity and overall mood for the day when I take the time to pick out and outfit an get myself ready – even if I’m not going anywhere. It makes me FEEL GOOD. And since the winter months are literally the season of dry cleaning, Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaning is the perfect thing to have on hand so your pretty holiday sparkle doesn’t have to sit this one out.

It’s not only affordable, but it restores the fabric. Here’s how it works: The heat of your dryer activates the cleaning solution in the Dryel Activated cleaning cloth to release a steam that
removes body soils and odors from the clothes. The Fabric Protection Bag maintains the optimal balance of cleaning agents and heat, allowing the steam to work thoroughly through the clothes, and then slowly vents the vapors out of the bag and dryer. Dryel Booster Spray includes extra cleaning agents to remove stains and add freshness to heavily soiled areas prior to putting the garments through the in-dryer system.

I literally LOVE the convenience of this product because going to the dry cleaner is no where near the top of my priority list and now that i have my new dryer installed I am able to pull out my holiday pieces and have a stay at home insta-dress up session!

It’s available at both Walmart and Target as well as your local grocery store.

REST AND RELAX!

Ok this one seems obvious, but truth be told, it’s one I personally really need to work on. Being at home has made me delve even deeper into work, almost feeling like I’m home so I need to get more done. As a result, I’ve really been feeling burnout lately, as I know have a lot of people. But let me tell you, I recently started incorporating the Green Roads Relax Bears as part of my evening routine and  I’ve noticed a big difference in the way I’ve been able to wind down and shut off my work brain. Each bear has 10mg of CBD and it’s just a really enjoyable way to incorporate CBD into self care routine (aside from the fact that they taste like sour patch gummy bears and I am tempted to eat more than one!)

They also have their Sweet Sleep Nightly Dose packets that contain CBD, CBN and melatonin to help you get restful sleep. I haven’t tried these yet, but once in a blue moon I have a night where I just can’t sleep or I hit the pillow and my brain starts going a mile a minute, and these will be great to have on hand.

If you want to give them a try you can use code glamlatte25 to get 25% storewide sitewide valid through March 31, 2021!!!

(Discounts not applicable on bundles.)

Let me know if you end up trying any of these products and also any self care ideas you have!
