Coffee Talk // Fall Edition

coffee talk

Hey beauties, time for my fall edition of coffee talk! This is basically my seasonal post discussing what’s been going on in my world on a more personal level. For my regular readers, some of this may be redundant because I have been sharing it with you as I go, but for everyone else this is some intimate details of the season.

I traveled quite a bit this fall starting in early September when I headed to London for both London Fashion Week and a fellowship I got through the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. The Pulitzer Center is an organization that reports on international news topics that are of global importance. I had the privilege of investigating health and obesity in the UK and I got to talk to experts, do research, see friends and attend fashion week. It was a lot of fun. After London it was off to Mykonos, Greece which is so amazing no words could begin to do it justice. You can see my photo diary and video diary for an in depth look of it’s beauty and my trip. I went by myself for some much needed R&R. Sometimes alone time does a body (and mind) good.

While I was away I had a death in the family which caused me to fly to Florida to be with family a few days after my return to LA. I stayed for 4 days and then flew up to Washington D.C. to attend a conference with the Pulitzer Center and discuss my findings in London. Finally mid October I returned home to Los Angeles and spent the first week readjusting and catching up on so much that had piled up (a month away feels like a lifetime!) I am now back in full work and school mode.

Before I left on my trip I paid a visit to the amazing Sally Hershberger salon to get ready for fashion week. I had no idea what I was going to do when I went in, and I left with a complete hair makeover. Cutting bangs had been on my to do list for a few years and I finally (with some encouragement) pulled the trigger. Luckily I was in the hands of some amazing artists and it came out pretty great. I don’t know how long I will keep them, but for right now, I’m kind of loving them!

I’m still waiting for the LA weather to catch up with the fall fashion I have been dying to wear, but it’s been all about light layers and neutral tones for me. I’ve been super into half moon mani’s, berry lips and my new Paul’s Boutique bag that is perfect for fall. They are a handbag brand I was introduced to while in London and I am absolutely in love with their bags. I’m sure you will see it quite a bit in upcoming outfit posts.

I’ve been working on some great projects lately and I am excited to share those with you soon. Thank you all so much for your love and support and for coming by to visit!
