Wardrobe Work

I am very meticulous about separating my clothes for each season. As the weather gets warm I fold up all my sweaters and winter clothes and pack them away in bins to hibernate for the summer. Now that fall is here, it is time to swap out all of my light airy summer wear for my chunky knits, and clothing with heavier textures like satin, leather and velvet.

Opening the bins is like Christmas. All of the clothes I forgot I had because they’ve been out of sight and out of mind. New ideas on how to pair things coming flooding and creative fashion ideas are a plenty.

Then comes the trying on part. What fits, what needs tailoring, what am I totally over? Then the organizing everything back into my wardrobe.

Usually I have this done by now…but I still have yet to go through the process. I think somewhere in my mind I thought Southern California was going to get a late summer. That a heat wave was right around the corner…

Well if this weekend was any indication, I would say that’s a pipe dream. The air smelled of fall and had a light crisp cool that is very much September. (sigh)

SO…. I guess I have some wardrobe work to do.
