Panama Hat: A Fashion Risk Love Story

HatOk perhaps a tiny exaggeration.

Sometimes its fun to step outside of your fashion comfort zone and try something new. I think it’s important to know what works for you, and have a firm grasp on your own personal style, but also to have the guts to step outside of it and take a risk from time to time. Occasionally you will find something you didn’t think would work for you that actually does. For me there are a few things that were on my “I never” list (Birkenstocks I’m looking at you) that I’ve ended up reneging on. Never say never as they say…

Panama hats are another thing I thought didn’t work for me and I’d never wear, yet as you can see, I ate those words too. When I was at Coachella a few weeks ago I attended a really cool party thrown by Old Navy and I ended up with this amazing hat, which gave me the perfect excuse to try something new. Though it isn’t in my everyday repertoire, it looks pretty darn cute don’t you think? There’s something about this hat that puts you in a good mood as soon as you put it on. I will be throwing this one into the occasion rotation this summer because if you can’t have fun with fashion what’s the point right?

Have you taken a fashion risk lately? I’d love to hear about something you tried from your ‘I never’ list that actually worked! Comment below, email, Instagram or tweet at me!
